About Mr. Flores

Mr. Flores is a teacher at Mission Bell Elementary in the community of Mira Loma near Riverside, California. He has been teaching there since 1993 and he loves his job!

If you come to Mission Bell looking for Mr. Flores, he will be the one driving the way cool MINI Cooper S! He loves his car almost as much as he loves reading. But if you see him, don't try to take a picture of him. He is deathly afraid of cameras pointed his way. (He believes they will steal his soul!)

This website was started by Mr. Flores because he loves kids and he loves books. He shares his love of books with his students, and many times his students would ask for book recommendations. So, one day he was talking with his friend Mrs. Pierce. At the time, she was the school librarian (Mr. Flores also likes our current librarian, Ms. Swearingen.)

An idea came to him! "Wouldn't it be cool," he said to Mrs. Pierce, "to have a website listing all the books you've ever read?!" So a few weekends later, he had the book list up and running. Later on Mr. Flores added games "news" sections followed by "sub-sites" about his DVDs, music, and other things. Yet, even with all that other stuff, the heart of this website is still reading books! Mr. Flores looked at what he had created and saw that it was good.

The only thing that really bothered Mr. Flores was writing about himself in the third person...
